City Stories: First State Investments

Why/how you are supporting your charity partners/local communities/employees?

What are you hoping to achieve?

We are hoping to harness the same positive energy and philanthropic spirit of past years, but without necessarily being able to see each other in person. Without geographical restrictions, we are hoping to open up the day to more of our regional teams.

Which charities or communities do you support?

We continue to support Create , which supports disadvantaged and vulnerable groups in the UK, allowing them access to a variety of artforms to aid their self-expression, boost confidence, reduce isolation and provide much-needed respite. This has been an extremely challenging time for the charity, which has had to reimagine its whole provision of face-to-face workshops, developing a brand new virtual creative programme from scratch.

How will you celebrate City Giving Day 2020? This will be our 5th year taking part and will look a bit different this year! We hope to engage with as many of our staff as possible through virtual activities and fundraising throughout the day, no matter their location.

.

“Our partnership with FSI enables us to empower, upskill and reduce the isolation of vulnerable children and adults through creative arts activities, supported by its dedicated staff.” Nicky Goulder, Chief Executive, Create
