How are you getting involved in City Giving Day?
Following on from the success of the Tour de City cycling event, this year we are working in partnership with The Lord Mayor’s Appeal to host a new event, the City Masters! This inter-company golf tournament will be an opportunity for businesses across the City to get involved in a day filled with charity and fun competition on the golf course. 24 City teams will take part and compete against other teams in a Texas Scramble. The competition will be scored by Vpar for all the City to follow as the teams posts their scores throughout the day.
What are you hoping to achieve through City Masters?
We are hoping to encourage friendly competition between City businesses, while raising a substantial amount for The Lord Mayor’s Appeal charities.City Masters will not only include a golf element, but the competition will be followed by a live auction sponsored by Givergy which will be raising further funds for The Lord Mayor’s Appeal.
Which charities or communities will this event support?
Innovation is at the heart of our business, and we look to reflect this in our charity work by using our expertise in research and development, energy and improving financial performance, as well as the strength of our international network and the continuous commitment of our employees. The City Masters event is a realisation of these ambitiions, working with two technology partners, Vpar and Givergy, and raising funds for The Lord Mayor’s Appeal charities: Place2Be, Onside Youth Zones and Samaritans.
“Leyton is constantly looking for ways to give back to the community in which we operate. The new City Masters challenge is about brining City businesses together and uniting them to raise funds for a cause we are fully committed to supporting.”
