We celebrate the launch of City Giving Day 2025!

March's City Giving Day 2025 launch breakfast gathered City businesses interested in taking part for the chance to ask questions and learn more about the City’s biggest celebration of philanthropy.

The morning event at Mansion House included speeches from:

  • The Lord Mayor of the City of London Alderman Alastair King
  • Byron Spring, Pro Bono Managing Attorney at Cleary Gottlieb
  • Anna Bennett-Wilkinson, Assistant Social Value Manager at Skanska
  • Harry Owen, CEO of City AM

The Lord Mayor reminded guests why City Giving Day remains the best platform for companies to share their philanthropic efforts.

Harry Owen mentioned that while City AM had been supporting City Giving Day since 2017, ‘it really took off when they introduced the now famous Bloody Mary coffee morning’.

As well as a chance to bring out the much-loved City Giving Day selfie frames, participants took part in a round table discussion with a host of activity champions familiar to the big day.

Hosts included Sarah Mahomed Ross from First Sentier Investors, Emma Sheron from AJ Gallagher, Lydia Gadd from Bank of England and Julie Wood from China Construction Bank.

Sarah Tickner, Relationships Director at Lloyds Banking Group said;

“We're proud to be supporting the The Lord Mayor's Appeal today at the launch of City Giving Day Breakfast at Mansion House. Lloyds Bank has been a proud partner of City Giving since it began, and we would encourage all businesses in the city to get involved.

It’s a brilliant chance to have fun with your colleagues, to shine a light on all the wonderful philanthropic and charitable work you may already be doing, and raise valuable funds to make the city a better place to live work and thrive.”

The Lord Mayor’s Appeal team would like to extend a huge thank you to all that took part in our City Giving Day 2025 launch breakfast.
