Chinese New Year private dinner at Mansion House in support of the UK-China Charity Initiative

On Friday 21 February, a week after our Chinese New Year’s Concert, the Lord Mayor Alderman Alastair King DL and Lady Mayoress Florence King, hosted a private  Chinese New Year dinner with a special guest H.E Ambassador Zheng Zeguang and other guests including  FANG Wenjian (Chairman of CCCUK), John McLean OBE (Chairman of CUKBDC), David Buckley (Yehudi Menuhin School) Jennifer Young (HM Treasury, John Edwards CMG (Department for Business and Trade) together with senior representatives from Bank of China, China Construction Bank, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China China Merchant Bank, Agricultural Bank of China London Branch, CNOOC Petroleum Europe Limited, and Hugo de Burgh (Kensington Wade School and CCCUK’s charity beneficiary).

Gold and silver sponsors of the concert attended and received certificates from the Lord Mayor before guests were entertained with a stunning performance from Margaret Keys in both Cantonese and English.  Guests then enjoyed a three course dinner with speeches from the Lord Mayor, Ambassador Zheng Zeguang and Mr Fang.
