The Lord Mayor's Appeal Events: July to September

The Lord Mayor’s Appeal calendar of annual events helps to highlight our four thought-leadership initiatives and fundraise for our three partner charities: MQ Mental Health Research, Homewards and National Numeracy.

From The City’s yearly beer festival to business breakfasts discussing social mobility, our events offer companies and individuals in the City and beyond an exciting way to support us in our aim to create A Better City For All.

With so many in the pipeline, we've created a one-stop, round-up of The Lord Mayor’s Appeal Events from July to September 2024: 

Lord Mayor's Hot Air Balloon Regatta 

7, 21, 28 July

The Lord Mayor’s Hot Air Balloon Regatta® is the official ballooning event of The City of London and is the aerial extension of the historic Lord Mayor’s Show. Each year up to 50 hot air balloons take flight across central London raising awareness and funds for The Lord Mayor’s Appeal.

City Beerfest

11 July from 12.30pm-9pm

After a hugely successful event in 2023, the City of London Corporation’s annual Beerfest returns to Guildhall Yard to celebrate its 10th anniversary. Sip on refreshing ales and beers from over 35 of the finest British and international brewers, eat delicious street food, dance to live music in historic surroundings.

Supporting Parents & Carers in the Workplace

17 September from 1pm-2pm

Join our webinar, "Supporting Parents & Carers in the Workplace," to explore how employers can enhance their workplace culture, improve employee satisfaction, and boost productivity by supporting employees with caregiving responsibilities.

Sheriffs' Ball 2024

20 September from 6:30pm 

Join the Sheriffs of the City of London and dance the night away! Alderwoman and Sheriff Dame Susan Langley DBE and Alderman and Sheriff Bronek Masojada are hosting the eighth Sheriffs' Ball at historic Guildhall on Friday 20 September 2024 in aid of The Lord Mayor's Appeal.

City Giving Day 2024

24 September

City Giving Day is a simple but impactful initiative that enables City companies and employees to celebrate and showcase their philanthropic and volunteering achievements and encourage others to get involved.

Tour de City 2024

24 September from 11am-2pm

Be part of a high-energy Tour de City Wattbike challenge! The annual event is held as part of City Giving Day at The Leadenhall Building in aid of The Lord Mayor's Appeal.

City Walk 2024

24 September from 12pm-2pm

What could be better than a nice gentle stroll around the City during your lunchtime?

Lasting about an hour, one of the City of London Guides takes participants through byways of the City telling tales and pointing out myriad points of interest – you’ll be amazed by what you learn!

Treasure Hunt 2024

24 September 4pm-5pm

The City Giving Day Treasure Hunt is the perfect way to support, build morale and have fun at the same time. Teams arrive at Mansion House for 4pm to be given a series of clues to crack leading to prizes and, finally, the treasure!

24 September from 6pm-8pm 

With questions provided by Nick Boardman from QuizNick.com, test your general knowledge alongside your colleagues, compete with the greatest minds in the City, and be in with a chance of being crowned City Giving Day 2024 Quiz Night winners!

Power of Inclusion Social Mobility Workshop Series: Inclusive Hiring Practices

How do we create a fully inclusive approach to hiring? Part of The Lord Mayor’s Appeal’s Power of Inclusion initiative, this workshop will explore and promote strategies that foster social mobility through inclusive recruitment practices and outreach programmes.
