Power of Inclusion Social Mobility Workshop Series: The Role of Mentoring
How do we ensure employees from lower socioeconomic backgrounds are able to thrive and progress at work? Part of The Lord Mayor’s Appeal’s Power of Inclusion initiative, this workshop will explore how mentoring and sponsorship can support social mobility in the workplace. Expert speakers and organisations will share strategies for creating equitable opportunities for career progression, ensuring mentoring and sponsorship opportunities are not reserved for those from the most privileged backgrounds. Discussions will focus on the power of mentoring and how to deliver formal programmes that promote fair advancement.
This workshop will be chaired by Dan Robertson, Director of FAIRER Consulting and chair of the Power of Inclusion Senior Leadership Forum.
This workshop is a practical session suitable for senior leaders, DEI champions, HR professionals and social mobility experts. You will hear keynote speeches and collaborate for effective change through roundtable discussions exploring the following themes and questions:
- The power of mentoring to drive social mobility and support employees from lower socioeconomic backgrounds to progress in their careers
- Practical strategies to implement a successful social mobility mentoring and skills development initiatives
- Unlocking career advancement through sponsorship and ensuring access is not restricted to those with existing networks.
