Power of Inclusion Social Mobility Workshop Series: Inclusive Hiring Practices

How do we create a fully inclusive approach to hiring? Part of The Lord Mayor’s Appeal’s Power of Inclusion initiative, this workshop will explore and promote strategies that foster social mobility through inclusive recruitment practices and outreach programmes. You will hear from expert speakers and other organisations about ensuring equal access to opportunities for those from lower socioeconomic backgrounds. We will also address how to display inclusivity to new recruits from day one.

This workshop will be chaired by Dan Robertson, Director of FAIRER Consulting and chair of the Power of Inclusion Senior Leadership Forum.

This workshop is a practical session suitable for senior leaders, DEI champions, HR professionals and social mobility experts. Attendees will collaborate for effective change through keynote speeches and roundtable discussions exploring the following themes and questions:

  • The challenges individuals from lower socioeconomic backgrounds face in entering a career in the City
  • Demonstrating inclusivity throughout the hiring process, from creating job advertisements that attract a diverse range of candidates to reviewing requirements
  • Engaging with potential candidates from lower socioeconomic backgrounds through a range of impactful outreach programmes
  • Providing hiring managers with the skills and knowledge they need to remain inclusive when recruiting
  • Effectively onboarding new talent to ensure everyone joining the organisation feels they belong.

This event is free to attend and if you would like to join the conversation on Thursday 26th September, 09:00 - 11:00am, please reach out to request a place ASAP as spaces are limited.
